Their mandate is to make sure that the cultural heritage of the Kwakwa̱ka̱ʼwakw is preserved.  They have a museum, an extensive art gallery and gift shop, group tours, and presentations by dance troupes.  It is located in Alert Bay, BC.

The people of Kwakwa̱ka̱ʼwakw speak Kwakʼwala and there are 17 tribes.  You can learn about them at: www.umista.ca/kwakwakawakw/tribes.php
